| Take Hold |
God does not want you to be a victim of
circumstances. He does not want you to live under your circumstances. It is not God's plan
for you to walk in fear and uncertainty or live in doubt or trouble.
The people in God's Word that miracles
happened through, the ones in God's Word that changed the course of their lives and the
lives of all those around them, the leaders that literally changed the outcome of events,
had one thing in common. They took charge of their lives. They took charge of their
situations. They did not let trouble come to them, but they went to trouble and conquered
it.
From this moment the conquest of Jericho was set. This woman saved herself and all of her family. This woman did not die with all the people of Jericho. This woman not only saved herself, but became in the lineage of Jesus. She married a Hebrew by the name of Salmah (Ruth 4:21). They had a son named Boaz who married Ruth, the Moabite. They had a son named Obed. Obed had a son named Jesse and Jesse had a son named David. Not only did she become in the lineage of Christ; but, in Hebrews the eleventh chapter, along with Enoch, Abraham, Sarah, Moses and other great people of faith, this woman, Rahab, who was a common woman of the street, living in and by the street, (you can dress it up any way you want, but it still comes out the same--she was a harlot), in God's letter to the Hebrews, she is listed in God's "faith hall of fame." And, so that we will not misunderstand who God is speaking of, He has the writer refer to her as Rahab the harlot. Rahab the harlot took charge of her life; first, by believing God, second, by believing what God had said and third, by acting on her belief. God honors the action of faith, not the intent, not the want or desire of faith; but the action of faith. When a person moves in faith, God moves. When faith speaks, God speaks to confirm faith's message. When faith answers doubts, fears, questions and unbelief, God stands in eternity saying it is so. When faith believes, believers receive. This is actually what Hebrews, chapter I I is a record of, a record of those who refused to allow the circumstances that were happening to everyone else to happen to them. Enoch said I don't want to die. He didn't--God took him. Noah believed in the unseen so his life and the lives of his family were saved. Abraham and Sarah believed the impossible and it happened. Isaac and Jacob refused to accept tradition and they reversed it. Joseph would not allow death to hinder his promise and had his bones carried into the promised land. Moses' mother and Moses made their miracles happen. Joshua obtained the miraculous in the midst of doubt and unbelief. Friends, I know you can see what God is speaking to you as you read this letter and the Holy Ghost is moving within you. Regardless of where you are, regardless what may be your surroundings, regardless what may be happening to you, you too can take charge of your life. You can take charge of the outcome of the events of your life. You can take charge of the resources of your life that your resources will not be controlled by others. You can stand like Rahab and say, "I will not die with everyone else. My family will not be lost, regardless of what happens to everyone else." From this day, I will change my future.
Second, she believed what God said. Can you hear this in the Spirit? Can you see this in the Spirit? She believed what God had said. It is one thing to believe what God has said for others and that it will work for others; and yet, never bring yourself into the equation that what God has said will work for you. Third, she acted upon what she believed and what God had said. This is where, in the Spirit, you separate "the men from the boys," and the "women from the girls." She acted. You can want to take charge of your life. You can dream about it, think about it, pray about it, talk about it or you can do it. This is where you become a doer and God moves for you. Brothers and sisters, declare out loud -- "I WILL TAKE CHARGE OF MY LIFE. I WILL TAKE CHARGE OF THIS SITUATION." Don't just think about it or pray about it but ACT ACT ACT! Today is your day to take hold of your finances and your resources. Do not let lack determine your future. Do not let fear control your giving. Do not let Satan rule your dedication. Take hold of your life, your future and your blessing. Give in faith. Give in victory. Give it in overcoming faith. In your giving you can also take charge. God bless you. I love you. I want to thank all of you that I sent letters to our ministry. May the God of peace rest in your spirit and that peace rest in your heart. In Christ, Brother Walker
